Lincoln Town Car recall

Vehicle recall is issued by the manufacturer once they found out that there are
defects and faulty systems in the vehicle. Recall has been issued for the 1993
Lincoln Town Car because safety belts may not have been installed for rear facing
seats. This problem may lead to increased injury for the occupants of these seats
in the event of sudden stop or collision. The corrective measure that should be
taken is to install additional safety belts. Another recall has been issued for
1995-1996 model years due to the pitman arms which are not fully lubricated at
the assembly plant. The ball joint at the outer end of the pitman arm can possibly
be contaminated and corrode. This defect may result to loss of steering control,
increasing the risk of vehicle accident. As remedy, the arm of those joint with
significant wear will be replaced and those pitman arms that will not be replaced
will have the ball joint fully greased.
